I am a
service member on the island at current. I am a Book Hound, often
enjoying when I was stationed in more urban settings to lounge around
the downtown bookstore just roaming about lost in some pages, or
burning time burrowing through the shelves that became my own little
"Tunnel Network" to literary finds that I could add to my personal
shelf. Arriving on the island and seeing what "downtown" around the
one stoplight had to offer me was dismal, and I quickly gave up hope
for finding a local haunt/supplier and resigned myself to the digital
world. That was until recently that I saw in a brochure "The Next
Page". I went, and I found myself "digging" the scene and quickly
becoming comfortable. They have a solid selection that surprised me in
its diversity, and the fact that its local gives me a great outlet
Moral-wise for myself. being next door to a coffeehouse adds another
nail to the coffin as I am fueled by the Bean. On my way
over there at current to pick up a find that I just can't let go. Now,
I will add that its not a B. & N. or a Borders; its selection is
"Limited" in that they don't have everything your heart may desire.
But for a local bookstore in a VERY remote locale, it goes above and
beyond the bar. Highly recommend it; anything that you can't find,
they are more than willing to order for you. Great supplemental to a
Web Based Reader, as this gives you some shelves to peruse on the
weekends to find random offerings, and its a great place to base your
ops out of.
